Weight Revolution

Well, here I go again. Since January 2012, I have been stuck in the mid 140s weight range. The lowest I've seen has been 141.8 and no less. It has been 2.5 months. It is currently March 2012 and my most recent weigh in was 143.2lbs. These 140s has been my torment. One reason my body don't want to let go is because I used to maintain my weight, while in my 30s, around the high 140s/150s. So it is kind of saying to me, no I will not let you go past these 140s. My body has its' own mind apart from my brain. Nonetheless, I will preservere through this quagmire. Though my body is trying to teach me who is the boss, I will be victorious. Greater is the God in my soul than anything else in or outside of my being. I can do this. Furthermore, there has been a significant rediscovery at the gym lately. This past weekend, I rediscovered a machine called the Octane Fitness http://www.octanefitness.com/. This is my NEW MAN! I'm gonna marry this one, for sure:-) Now the reason that I state "rediscovered" is simply because I have used this machine once or twice before. The first couple of times, I was not enthused with this machine, and all I burned in 20 minutes was around 200 calories. I wasn't impressed. However, I needed to change up on machines because I was experiencing boredom. So, I decided to jump on it again and put it to the maximum stride of 26.0 and level 30.0. At first, I was pushing and pulling; then the machine would come to almost a squeeching halt, and I had to push through this for 5 minutes/2 laps. Sounds frustrating right? Well it is but I hung on in there and then it released and you could run with it. Then, I noticed in the calories burned section that I was clocking 3900 calories per hour! Yes, you read it right and I did not misspell anything--3900 calories per hour. I thought to myself, "Did they adjust this thing correctly?" I mean like what machine does this kind of burn?! Well, here's the deal, I am going to work this machine for an hour 5 days in a row up to my weigh in time. Now, I have been stuck for quite a while, and I am going to see if I released any weight at the end of this week. You see, if you burn 3500 calories that equates to 1lb gone. Naturally, I should lose 5lbs this week, but nothing  is perfect so I will settle for 3lbs. If it works, I am marrying this fool! I will keep you updated. Have a peaceful day:-)

Here I Go Again....LOL

I hope your holidays were as enjoyable and excitable as mine. I spent my holidays in Orlando, Fl and Walt Disney World. It was truly a delight. I just simply love Epcot. I will be going back in this year or the next. But, this Christmas, I plan to be in Maui, Hi. Yoooohooooo!   I love the warm tropical climates.

My weight loss is holding steady. I have lost a total of 50lbs and I have not lost much more. Maybe a pound more, give or take. Today, I have stopped taking Metformin(met). From the limited research that I have gathered, met destroys the B12 and 6 in your body. These minerals are what gives you the energy metabolism that your body needs. Afterall, I don't think met has helped me to lose weight. I have worked hard in the gym and in educating myself about nutrition; first, through a dietician, and now through my own research coupled with what I already knew from the dietician. I try to visit quality websites such as Harvard, Cornell etc... I don't seek this crazy stuff from the unlearned internet communities who tries to pimp invalid information across the internet for selfish gain. I like quality.

Moreover, this day, Feb. 1, 2012, I have stopped with the breads, both wheat/white, white pastas, all box cereals, all flours and most sweets. Now, I am not saying I won't ever eat a piece of bread again, but I won't eat it everyday like I've done in the past. I love myself some bread--wheat or white...just simply love it. Already I see a difference. This week, I am trying to jump back from a cold. So, my body is aching etc...However, I am holding to my guns.....don't shoot yet! I had none of the bad carby stuff in two days. That alone is a miraculous change. I have lost 1.5 lbs in two days refraining from bread. In addition, I am cutting back on meat. I will now only eat meat for 3 days a week, and no process salty meat either. I am leaning toward organic products for as much as I can find them in my little rural peninsula area. You would think that  would be easy. NOT!   Therefore, I have only worked out 2 days this week. Won't be going back to the stinky gym and its' "lusty overly testosteroned looking at my butt men while I'm trying to do cardio"until next week. I need to recuperate. Those men are stupid sexed out fools. I wouldn't touch them with a 10 foot pole. I live in a small rural area and the YMCA is all we got. I have to put up with it FOR NOW.

Ok, back to the weight thing:-)  Today, I weigh 144lbs according to my scale. I am trying to get to 125lbs. My stomach is still holding on. I have a pouch. My waist line one inch above the naval is 30.5 inches. For every 6-8lbs that I lose, there is one inch that drops from the waist. I have been stuck in these 140s for over a month. I will be glad to see 140lbs right now. I planned to see 135lbs at the end of February, but NOT! I am 5'5 1/2." I am in a healthy weight zone. However, stomach fat increases the blood pressure(bp) and my bp has been between 130/90 and up for six months. The doc put me on 5mg isinopril. I am going to try the DASH diet and am already doing some of it now.

Nonetheless, I hope to get down in the 130s by the end of March. I am going to refrain from lifting weights in February. Usually that is a blocker to seeing the numbers that I want. Well, I got to go and attend to my teacher duties. Have a wonderful day:-)
